About Us

What is a student society group?
We represent all students of history, economic and social history, world history and the Institute of Ancient History. Although the departmental committee is elected, we are not a political group.

What do we do?
We represent the interests of students in our subjects and regularly organise events, parties, games afternoons, etc. In addition, a large proportion of the tutors for the orientation phase are recruited from the subject group. We are also represented on the SMNG board and can actively shape the work in the department. This allows us to influence the range of courses on offer and promote networking between students and lecturers. In addition, we act as multipliers for events, information and offers that are of interest to history students.

Who are we?
We are a group of history students from all semesters who volunteer and actively participate in everyday university life. Everyone contributes as much as possible alongside their studies. Above all, we see ourselves as a group of friends who also spend time together outside of our work in the student group.

How can I get involved?
Just come to one of our meetings or take part in one of our events. We are always looking for people to help us with event planning, communication and recurring tasks. New members are always welcome.

Values of history student group
We are a student group that advocates for the interests of all students in our respective subjects. We are not active in university politics and are therefore non-partisan.
Our work is characterised by mutual tolerance and appreciation. We are committed to open communication among ourselves, with lecturers and with all students. Our goal is for students to help each other with their studies, exchange ideas and treat each other with respect at university events.
We do not tolerate discrimination of any kind, including racism, sexism, ableism and any form of queerphobia. Our subject thrives on exchange and has no place for people who do not share our values.
