ONLY for foreign nationals or stateless applicants who ONLY for applicants who For all application and admission procedure from the summer semester 2027 onwards, international applicants can submit results of the dMAT Data Science in order to strengthen their application. The dMAT Data Science replaces the online aptitude test, which is no longer used. The dMAT Data Science is offered by g.a.s.t. e.V. (Gesellschaft für Akademische Studienvorbereitung und Testentwicklung) in cooperation with lot of test centres all around the world. For test registration, further information and sample tests, please follow the dMAT Website. We strongly encourage all prospective applicants to take the dMAT Data Science, as a good test result can significantly enhance your chances of admission and strengthen your application profile. Applicants who do not take the test will still be considered in the selection procedure. However, in a highly competitive selection procedure as ours, submitting a good test result will be an advantage. As the dMAT Data Science is administered by an external test provider, test dates are scheduled independently of our application deadlines. Prospective applicants should be aware that available test dates may fall several months before the application deadline for our programme. We therefore strongly recommend reviewing the test dates early on in order to plan your application timeline accordingly. Please note that there are two different contexts in which a dMAT may be relevant: 1) dMAT Data Science – University of Göttingen:
This is the subject-specific dMAT that may contribute points to the selection procedure for the M.Sc. Applied Data Science at the University of Goettingen. 2) dMAT as part of the APS procedure for applicants from India:
For applicants with certain Indian university degrees, a dMAT with the General Academic Module is required as part of the APS documentation for studying in Germany. We cannot provide any information on the APS procedure, please refer to the Academic Evaluation Center directly. For the Applied Data Science M.Sc. application procedure, we only accept the dMAT with subject module in Data Science. The dMAT with the General Academic Module is not accepted. Please do NOT include this in your application. The selection is based on a cumulative score of a) the grade of the bachelor's degree b) the result of the dMAT Data Science and – if applicable – c) the result of the personal interview. Your overall score has to be among the best-ranked applicants in order to be admitted. Only if you are on the shortlist for the programme, you will be invited to a personal interview. The interviews are conducted via video call and generally take place in the second half of June for the winter semester intake and in the first half of December for the summer semester intake.
