Heyne House
From 1775 until his death, the classical philologist Christian Gottlob Heyne (1729-1812) lived and worked in Göttingen in the house at Papendiek 16. The building, now known as the Heyne House, is located in the Johannisviertel, which is formed by Johannisstraße, Paulinerstraße, and Papendiek, west of St. John's Church.
The rooms can be booked for academic events organized by the university and its affiliated institutes.
Possible uses include:
- Conferences
- Workshops
Please note:
- Access to the rooms is not barrier-free
- You will receive the key for your booked event at Wilhelmsplatz 2, 37073 Göttingen, where it must be returned after the event. Please arrange collection by phone or email.
- The rooms coordinated by the event organizer are generally not available for courses or other regularly scheduled events.
Located on the ground floor of the Heyne House are two approximately 43 m2 seminar rooms for 25 persons each (rectangle with tables and chairs), a tea kitchen and a foyer.
Both rooms are equipped with projector, screen, overhead projector and flip charts.
These rooms can be used for University-internal workshops, smaller conferences and meetings.
Bookings for external events are possible by arrangement and are subject to a charge.
- Please collect the key for the Heyne House in the office of the Event Management (39-25381) and return it here following the end of your event. Many thanks!
